Yes liberal Democrats have a nanny-state mindset. They are tempted to outlaw smoking in private places (bars, restaurants, casinos), just can't keep their noses out of our business and actually believe they can make the earth cool off!!
I believe in free enterprise, low taxes which is the reverse of the nanny-state worldview.
